BISHOP & OVERSEER

Bishop D Stewart.png

Overseer David Stewart is known as a driven multifaceted leader with a Christ centered focus, He has a contagious passion and anointing for God's word and souls.

David Anthony Stewart was born in Mandevile, Manchester on the Island of Jamaica to Cynthia Allen and Fredrick Stewart. His mother had an unusually difficult pregnancy and was at high risk of miscarriage, so abortion was suggested. Rejecting that report, she believed that God had a plan and promised the Lord if he spared the life of her child and gave her a normal delivery, she would give him back to the Lord as Hannah did. God answered her prayer and she did as promised.

At age 12, following a traumatic near drowning experience at a youth retreat in Manchester, Jamaica, young David came to the conclusion the only thing that truly matters in one's life, is to live a life fully surrendered to the will of God. He gave his heart to the Lord and never looked back. God's hand was upon him from a young age and matured him into an influential young leader within the New Testament Church of God in Newport, Manchester, under the leadership of one of his respected mentors, Bishop Richard Robinson.

In his youthful years he learned the jewelry trade and business from his father and brothers Patrick and Junior. However, his love for adventure drove him to the high seas where he was employed in 1986 by Lewis Line Shipping Company as a high end marine carpenter repairing company yachts and ships; this created an incredible opportunity to travel and see the world, giving him a great appreciation for different cultures.

After migrating to the United States in 1990 and realizing he could not outrun the relentless call of God in his life, Bro. David surrendered to the call of God for Ministry. Encouraged by his then pastor, another mentor, Dr. James Francis, he pursued ministerial and theological studies through the New Testament church of God M.I.P Bible school program and became a minister in 1994.

Reverend Stewart was and remains a true worshiper and lover of music, which truly blossomed when he served as Minister of music at North Dade Assembly Christian Center in Miami, Florida

He has been a savvy business owner in Hollywood, Florida for over 20 years. By the Lord's grace he matured into a seasoned and anointed man of God with a passion for souls and ministry. He founded and pastored Higher Place Ministries in Miramar, Florida for 14 years where the hand of God moved mightily in transforming lives.

Bishop-Elect David Stewart succeeded his uncle Bishop Ermine Stewart, the founder of Miracle Temple Ministries International and is currently the General Overseer and Pastor of the Global ministry, headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, with branches in the United States, Canada and Jamaica.

Bishop Stewart has been married to his darling wife, First Lady Desrene Stewart and partner in ministry for 29 years, they have two outstanding children David Stewart Jr. and Davena Stewart.

He has a divine mandate for this generation to "plunder hell and populate heaven'", and to make the church of Jesus Christ ready for his imminent return. He is a man of faith and believes that "With God nothing is impossible"  - May God order his steps and destiny forward.

Miracle Temple Ministries International, Inc. (MTM) was founded in May 1971, Followin the direction of the Holy Spirit, the late Bishop Ermine Stewart, his wife, Mary Stewart along with their three children-Dwen, Donnamay, and Wayne stepped out in faith after worshiping for a period of time at the Good Hope Missionary Church in Brooklyn, New York. Miracle Temple Ministries, formerly known as Church of the Firstborn, began with a total of eight people; Deacon & Sis Vernal Campbell, Bro. & Sis. Morgan, Sis. Dannell, Bro. Jennings, and Bro. & Sis. Maragh. These faithful members allowed then Pastor Stewart to explain the vision that God gave him, they consented and started with prayer meetings.

Their first worship service was held at 744 Dumont Avenue and the quest speaker was the late Dr. Bent, Bishop's former pastor. The small congregation started holding regular weekly worship services and started witnessing the lives of many who visited these services changed in supernatural ways. The saints who stepped out in faith with Bishop Stewart continued weekly with Sunday worshiping until a Bible Studies and a vibrant Sunday School were established. Facing many setbacks however, with God's help Bishop Stewart and the saints weathered the storms as they came.

Through the help of the Lord and the generosity of the congregation, a new place of worship was sought to accommodate the growing and vibrant church, and in 1973, the current location of the ministry was purchased, and construction soon began, to house what is often referred to as the "Red Church The Lord blessed the "Red Church" greatly and many souls were saved and lives changed through the preaching and teaching of Bishop Stewart and the presence of the Holy Spirit that many of the matriarch and patriarch of the ministry still testified of today. As time progressed, the ministry launched its weekday prayer meetings, which served as a tower of strength for saved and unsaved alike. These daily meetings were well attended and were frequented by members of surrounding congregations and workers from the nearby hospital who attended during their lunch time. Many people received miraculous healings and the church's congregation grew extensively from these gatherings.

in 1998, our visionary and members worshiped for the last time in the "Red Church" and soon after the sanctuary was demolished and construction for the present edifice (the Blue Church) began. The church then worshiped in the dining hall, now known as "The Manor" until the end. prolonged construction was completed. The church encountered many setbacks during the construction, but the saints were unwavering in their faith and knew that God would provide all the resources that were needed to accomplish this monumental task. In November 2001, after many delays, the current edifice was completed and dedicated to the Glory of God and the new name was announced as "Miracle Temple Ministries".

Miracle Temple Ministries is committed to "'winning the lost, no matter the cost" to help restore broken lives, and help believers stay grounded in their faith in God.

The Late Bishop Ermine Stewart exemplified the office of an Apostle and has since established several branches in the United States, Canada and Jamaica. Currently, the ministry has a total of ten branches in fellowship and all honor and glory goes to God.
